The first activity of note, the Scientific Symposium on Current Issues in the Regulation and Safety of Food Additives, held on September 1995, gave participants an opportunity to listen to experts speaking about current restrictions and future trends in the regulation of food additives in Korea, international trends in the use and restriction of food additives, the safety assessment of food additives, and general safety aspects of natural and artificial food additives of significance to the Korean food industry.
Since then, ILSI Korea has organized and/or sponsored scientific activities including seminars, workshops and symposia on several topics of nutrition, sweeteners, safety assessment of GM foods, nutrition and obesity, immunology, risk assessment, functional foods, food safety etc.
